In July, in partnership with BirdLife Australia, we wrote to Federal Environment and Water Minister Murray Watt and to the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder, Dr Simon Banks, calling for immediate action to protect bird populations in the Murray-Darling Basin from the impacts of the H5N1 bird flu.
